DIY Disc sander
Sanding is one of the more annoying parts of woodworking.
A disc sander is a good and spacesaving option to cut down on that time.
This machine is already the 4th iteration; the first two were still powered with an electric drill.
After that didn't work to my liking I bought an induction motor with a little more than 1HP.
Sadly this one is turning at around 3600 RPM and not at 1700 RPM which is much more usable for wood sanding.
To solve this problem i am using a driving belt with a 2:1 reduction on the pulleys.
Another feature is that the sandpaper is attached with a hook and loop system and not with spray glue, like other DIY machines do.
Things I would do different on my next build:
-Get a motor with the right RPM
-Build a more sturdy table and get rid of the tilting function since I almost never use it
